From Grief to Purpose
The heart behind InspireHer Keepsakes was born from a deep desire to preserve the stories that shaped us.
As a proud African-American woman and the unofficial family historian, I grew up knowing how easily our heritage could be lost—stolen through slavery, scattered by displacement, or simply forgotten with time. When my grandparents were still with us, I would sit for hours listening to their stories—their childhoods, their dreams, their faith. After my grandfather passed, I realized how much of our family’s history disappeared with him. I started recording video conversations with my grandmother so her voice, her wisdom, and her legacy would live on long after she was gone.
When she transitioned, part of my healing came through crafting a biographical tribute—a keepsake video that told her story in her own words. That sacred process gave my pain a purpose, and InspireHer Keepsakes was born.
